Arthroscopy

JOURNEY TO ADDRESSES: ARTROSCOPY

Arthroscopy Arthroscopy, which means 'looking into the joint', is a surgical procedure that allows the small joints to be placed in the joint and to look through the joints for the necessary diagnosis and treatment.
Arthroscopy can be used not only for diagnosis and treatment, but also for taking biopsy specimens, removing free circulating cartilage particles and treating small tears.

Thanks to arthroscopy, it can be enlarged through the optical system and camera to allow detailed examination. It is usually made in the leg joints. Arthroscopy can also be performed on the hands, feet, shoulders and elbows.

HOW TO?

For surgical intervention, 0.5 cm holes are opened from the top of the joint. One of these holes is an apparatus (arthroscope) that allows the image to be transmitted to the screen, while others are placed in the joints to provide comfortable working. Arthroscopy, saline fluid is drained into the joint. This allows the fluid to be more comfortable for the joint and to be washed for joints. This fluid is drained back from the drilled holes after surgery. At the end of the operation, the drilled holes are sewn and closed.

Plaster is not applied after arthroscopy, but knees are used which allow controlled movement. After arthroscopy, mild pain relievers are usually sufficient.
Arthroscopy can be performed in the form of general or limited numbness according to the patient's condition. The duration of the operation can range from 30 to 60 minutes.

RECOVERY

Compared with open surgical intervention, recovery is very short. The duration of stay at the hospital varies from one to two days, depending on the type of procedure being performed, except for those patients who have undergone cross ligament or knee cap removal. It can also be discharged on the same day. Without the need for a seat bolt, the patient can stand up on the same day and do daily work. Long walks can be made at the end of a few days. The longer the degree of difficulty of operation, the longer the time.

WHICH STOPS CAN THE ARTROSCOPY DO?

In the treatment of meniscal tears,
Opening of restriction of movement after accident or illness,
In the clearing of arthritis of the early period,
Taking osteoarthritis,
In removing the free bone and cartilage parts in the joint,
In surgical intervention of benign benign tumors and cysts,
In frontal and posterior cruciate ligament injuries,
Cartilage transplants, medicinal plants
In cases of infection or edema of the knee,
Recurrent shoulder dislocations,
In the problems of the knee cap bone,
In the treatment of joint cartilage damage,
In the treatment of intraarticular fractures,
Relaxation of nerve entrapment in the wrist
Arthroscopy may be available in some cases.

ADVANTAGES:

Esthetic. Not a big skin cut.
The length of stay is short. It is a great advantage especially for athletes.
Since there are small cuts, the risk of infection is very low.
